The Korean government San Francisco Consulate paid mostly elderly Korean women to protest in support of the Park Geun-hye government. Some retired Korean military staff also tried to assault a Korean American who was at the rally to support the Korean workers who are fighting privatization of the KORAIL system and face prison and repression

한국 정부 샌프란시스코 영사관은 주로 한국 노년 여성들을 고용해 박근혜 지지 시위를 하게 했다. 일부 한국 퇴역 군인들도 코레일 민영화를 반대하고 징역형과 탄압에 맞서 싸우는 한국 노동자들을 지지하며 시위에 참석한 한 한국계 미국인에게 폭력 행사를 시도했다.

Korean Government Pays Demonstrators At SF Korean Consulate To Support Park Geun-hye government

한국 정부 샌프란시스코 영사관에 모인 시위대가 박근혜 정부를 지지하도록 돈을 지불하다.

The Korean Consulate in San Francisco on January 17, 2014 in response to a solidarity rally for Korean Railway Workers Union and the KCTU mobilization on December 18 paid counter-demonstrators to try to stop and intimidate supporters of the Korean working class.

샌프란시스코 한국 영사관은 2014년 1월 17일 한국철도노조를 위한 연대 시위와 지난 12월 18일 민주노총의 행동에 대한 대응으로, 한국 노동 계층의 지지자들을 중단시키고 겁주기 위해 시위방해꾼들을 고용했다.

They were infuriated when a banner of the Korean Transport Workers Union was unveiled in front of the Korean consulate in solidarity with Korean Railway Workers Union leaders who have been arrested and bullied by the government. They also physically assaulted a Korean American who was at the rally supporting the Korean workers. The organizing committee set up a defense guard to stop the attempted intimidation and assaults to silence supporters of the Korean workers struggle.

정부에 의해 체포되고 괴롭힘을 당해온 철도노조 지도부와의 연대를 위해 전국운수노조의 현수막이 한국 영사관 앞에 펼쳐지자 이들은 격노했다. 이들은 또한 한국노동자들에 대한 지지 시위에 참가한 한 한국계 미국인에게 폭력을 행사했다. 집행위원회는 한국노동자들의 투쟁을 지지하는 사람들을 침묵시키고자 하는 협박과 폭력 시도에 대응하기 위해 경비대를 세웠다.

The rally which has been the second since the attack on the KWRU was initiated by the Transport Workers Solidarity Committee brought trade unions and activists from around the bay area. Representatives of the AFT 2121, San Francisco Occupy, and San Francisco Labor Council Social And Economic Justice Committee participated in the rally.

한국철도노조에 대한 공격이후 두 번 열렸던 시위는 미국 운수노동자 연대위원회에서 샌프란시스코 지역의 노조들과 활동가들을 참여시킴으로써 시작됐다, 샌프란시스코 시립대 직원 노조, 샌프란시스코 아큐파이, 그리고 샌프란시스코 노동위원회 소속 사회 경제 사법 위원회가 시위에 참여했다.

Speakers in support of the KRWU and KCTU tied the Trans Pacifica Partnership TPP and KORUS trade agreements to privatization and attacks on workers in Korea and the US.

한국철도노조와 민주노총 지지자들은 연설에서 환태평양경제동반자협정과 한미무역협정을 민영화 그리고 한국과 미국의 노동자에 대한 공격과 연결지웠다.

Organizers later learned from reporters at the rally that the Korean government had paid mostly elderly women to carry signs supporting the Park government, the National Security Laws and he construction of the Naval Base on JeJu Island. Korean government supporters told Korean labor supporters that they could not put sign up
on the fence next to the consulate but put up pro-governmen signs that they had made with support of the Consulate. Despite physical efforts to push the labor protesters away it was unsuccessful and after an hour the pro-government protesters gave up and were asking the TWSC organizers when the protest could end so they could take their paid pro-government demonstrators home.

시위 주최자들은 나중에 시위에 참여했던 기자들로부터 한국 정부가 박근혜 정부와 국가보안법, 제주 해군 기지 건설을 지지하는 싸인을 들도록 주로 노년 여성들을 돈 주고 고용했다고 들었다. 한국 정부 지지자들은 한국 노조 지지자들에게 영사관옆 울타리에 싸인을 걸 수 없다고 말하며, 영사관의 지원을 받아 자신들이 만든 친정부 싸인을 그곳에 걸었다. 시위 노동자들을 밀어 내려는 물리적인 노력은 성공적이지 못했으며, 한 시간 후 정부 지지자들은 포기하고, 고용한 정부 지지 시위자들을 집으로 데려다 주기 위해 운수노동자 연대위원회 주최자에게 시위가 언제 끝날지 물었다.

Supporters of the solidarity action also told the Korean media that pro-labor demonstrators had been paid to come to the rally and were representing North Korea. They held signs supporting the National Security Law, the construction of the JeJu military base and attacking the Korean workers who are fighting privatization of KORAIL The next mobilization will be on February 25, 2014 when there will be a national action against the Park government in South Korea. The government has used repressive measures against the railway workers, teachers and public worker and the KCTU to stop their opposition of privatization by the Park Geun-hye government.
